Why is the Bundt Cake called as such?

Later, when the inventor patented the pan, he added the ‘t’ at the end.

Who invented the Bundt Pan?

Invented by H. David Dalquist in 1950, bundt pans are a relatively recent invention. It is especially so considering how the cake style itself is centuries old.

Dalquist used to be the owner of the Nordic Ware company in Minnesota and cast the pan for Minneapolis-based Hadassah Society. It was initially called a bund pan but he later added the ‘t.’ This was probably so because people often made the ‘d’ a soft sound when it wasn’t meant to be.

Some others suggest that this was more so for Trademarking purposes. Or, it could have been to put some space between his product and the German-American Bund.
