Earth Day is an annual event celebrated by many countries around the world to recognize the importance of protecting our planet’s environment. Events are coordinated globally by Earth Day Network. “This year’s campaign is about environmental and climate literacy” per the website. Earth Day also marks the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970.
