Inspirational Yoga Quotes

Yoga Quotes About Love
Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.
The purpose of life is to watch and experience living. To enjoy living every moment of it. And to live in environments, which are calm, quiet, slow, sophisticated, elegant. Just to be. Whether you are naked or you have a golden robe on you, that doesn’t make any difference. The ideal purpose of your life is that you are grateful – great and full – that you are alive, and you enjoy it.
Yoga is not just a repetition of a few postures – it is more about the exploration and discovery of the subtle energies of life.

Inner peace begins the moment you choose not to allow another person or event to control your emotions.
When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all of your thoughts break their bonds. Your mind transcends limitations; your consciousness expands in every direction; and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties, and talents become alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person than you ever dreamed yourself to be.
Patanjali, The Yoga Sutras
The asanas are useful maps to explore yourself, but they are not the territory.
Where there is love there is no question.
Good Yoga Quotes For Class
Through sustained focus and meditation on our patterns, habits, and conditioning, we gain knowledge and understanding of our past and how we can change the patterns that aren’t serving us to live more freely and fully.
Yoga Sutra 111.18
Be a lamp to yourself. Be your own confidence. Hold on to the truth within yourself as to the only truth.
Although yoga has its origins in ancient India, its methods and purposes are universal, relying not on cultural background, faith or deity, but simply on the individual. Yoga has become important in the lives of many contemporary Westerners, sometimes as a way of improving health and fitness of the body, but also as a means of personal and spiritual development.
No one who does good work will ever come to a bad end, either here or in the world to come.

Your mind is your instrument. Learn to be its master and not its slave.
Yoga is not a work-out, it is a work-in. And this is the point of spiritual practice; to make us teachable; to open up our hearts and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are.
Don’t move the way fear makes you move. Move the way love makes you move. Move the way joy makes you move.
Quotations About Change
Change is not something that we should fear. Rather, it is something that we should welcome. For without change, nothing in this world would ever grow or blossom and no one in this world would ever move forward to become the person they’re meant to be.
Move your joints every day. You have to find your own tricks. Bury your mind deep in your heart, and watch the body move by itself.

The most important pieces of equipment you need for doing yoga are your body and your mind.
Yoga is about clearing away whatever is in us that prevents our living in the most full and whole way. With yoga, we become aware of how and where we are restricted – in body, mind, and heart – and how gradually to open and release these blockages. As these blockages are cleared, our energy is freed. We start to feel more harmonious, more at one with ourselves. Our lives begin to flow – or we begin to flow more in our lives.
Yoga accepts. Yoga gives.
All problems are illusions of the mind.
Yoga Terms You Should Know
If you’re new to yoga, here are a few words you should know to help you with your first class:
Asana: This refers to the series of physical poses that you’ll use during class. It’s your manner of sitting.
Namaste: This is a salutation usually said at the end of class while one presses their palms together and bows the head. The translation is, “the divine in me acknowledges the divine in you.”
Downward Facing Dog: Even if you haven’t attended on a yoga class, you’re probably familiar with this pose’s name, if nothing else. To achieve this pose – kind of an inverted “V” – you place hands and feet on the ground with your back straight.
Pranayama: This refers to controlled breathing while you practice yoga.
Savasana: Known as the “corpse pose,” lay down with palms up at your side. This pose typically comes at the end of yoga classes.
