Happy St. Patrick’s Day
When a twig grows hard it is difficult to twist it. Every beginning is weak.
It is sweet to drink but bitter to pay for.
The old pipe gives the sweetest smoke.
Your son is your son today, but your daughter is your daughter forever.
Time is a good storyteller.
May the grandest of luck come your way.
You’ll never plough a field by turning it over in your mind.
There is no need like the lack of a friend.
Wishing you good luck, blessings, and happiness.
Three diseases without shame: Love, itch, and thirst.
Long live the Irish, long live the cheer, and long live our friendship year after year!

Cheerful Irish Blessings
May you live long,
Die happy,
And rate a mansion in heaven.
Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad.
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.
Here’s to you and yours
And to mine and ours.
And if mine and ours
Ever come across to you and yours,
I hope you and yours will do
As much for mine and ours
As mine and ours have done
For you and yours!
May the roof above us never fall in.
And may the friends gathered below it never fall out.
Here’s a toast to your enemies’ enemies!
Rye bread will do you good,
Barley bread will do you no harm,
Wheaten bread will sweeten your blood,
Oaten bread will strengthen your arm.
May you have warm words on a cold evening,
A full moon on a dark night,
And the road downhill all the way to your door.
For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way,
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.
May you have warm words on a cold evening,
A full moon on a dark night,
And the road downhill all the way to your door.
There are good ships, and there are wood ships,
The ships that sail the sea.
But the best ships are friendships,
And may they always be.

Irish sayings and messages
For those interested in Irish Ireland and St. Patrick.
Every terrier is bold in the doorway of its own house.
An old broom knows the dirty corners best.
A light heart lives long.
As the old cock crows so the young cock learns.
An empty sack does not stand.
A word is more enduring than worldly wealth.
Good as drink is, it ends in thirst.
Happy St Patricks Day
It is a long road that has no turning.
When the liquor was gone the fun was gone.
There is no fireside like your own fireside.
It is not a secret if it is known by three people.
A trade not properly learned is an enemy.
Put silk on a goat, and it’s still a goat.
If you do not sow in the spring you will not reap in the autumn.
